WHAT IS

BIOMIMICRY?

"Biomimicry is the practice of learning from and emulating nature’s genius to solve human problems and create more regenerative

solutions."

LIFE   IMITATE

Biomimicry is a design and leadership discipline that seeks regenerative solutions by emulating nature’s time-tested strategies.

WHY PRACTICE BIOMIMICRY?

Biomimicry is a new science

that studies nature’s models. Then imitates or takes inspiration from these designs and processes to solve human challenges.

NATURE CAN BE A:

MODEL

After 3.8 billion years of evolution, nature has learned what works, what is appropriate, and what lasts. Biomimicry uses an ecological standard to judge human innovations.

NATURE CAN BE A:

MEASURE

Biomimicry is a new way of viewing and valuing nature. When we look to nature as our mentor we reconnect to the genius of nature and apply biomimicry thinking at a different level.

NATURE CAN BE A:

MENTOR

WHO CAN PRACTICE BIOMIMICRY?

Biomimicry is beyond biology, it is the emergence of optimal solutions out of the integration of the disciplines. No-one can simultaneously be an expert in biology, design, engineering, business, strategy and innovation. Yet all of these disciplines allow one to bridge the world of biology and human design. The practice of is the translation of biological strategies and mechanisms into design principles for new designs, technologies, business strategies, etc.

EVERYONE

We are a non-profit focused on educating and advocating biomimicry design and facilitating collaborations between interested parties.

We believe that the best way to learn about biomimicry and the work being done, is by interacting with biomimicry professionals and specialists.

We aim to make biomimicry accessible to all sectors and industries that have a role to play in a regenerative future, from agriculture to mining.

We would love to hear from you, whether it is a message of support, much appreciated donation or regarding potentional collaboration.

The answers to our questions are everywhere; we just need to change the lens with which we see the world.
